Everything else I’ve tried honestly was nothing to Google. I practically grew up on Google, so I just knew it and automatically used Google Drive. Mainly because nothing could compare to Drive.

I hope Google looses enough clients that they realize they messed up and shouldn't stealth install software without permission and give us the option of just backing up the folder of our choosing, not trying to make that choice for us and put new folders on our computer that we don't want.Google Drive, part of Google Workspace, is a safe place to back up and access all your files from any device. Again, would have loved to keep going the way things were but Google isn't giving me that option. Finally, after a bit of researching I didn't find any easy way to get rid of that new H: Google Drive and go back to just syncing the Google Drive folder I had on my external hard drive so Strike Three, I UNINSTALLED Google Drive for Desktop. Then it added a new drive on my computer that I didn't want- "H: Google Drive" instead of just syncing the google drive folder I was already using. this new Google Drive for Desktop also appeared on my computer without me giving me permission. easy to sync my "google drive" folder on my external hard drive. I had a long happy relationship with google back up and sync. Not happy about it but Google is breaking my trust so I'm going to have to look for another option.
